Order Transcripts

A transcript is a complete record of a student's academic history. Transcripts are free of charge.


  • You may order official transcripts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 
  • Transcripts can be sent electronically or mailed in hard copy.
  • By placing your order online, you will receive delivery confirmation via email. You may also opt-in for text message confirmation.
  • Confirm receipt of all grades and/or the awarding of degree in Banner Self Service prior to ordering an official transcript.


If you are or have been an active, enrolled student in the last 12 months:

  1. Log into my.uncc.edu
  2. Select Banner Self Service
  3. Select Student Services/Student Accounts
  4. Select Student Records
  5. Select Order Official Transcript
  6. Follow the provided instructions to complete your order.

If you have not been actively enrolled in the last 12 months:

  1. Place your order directly through Credentials Solutions.
  2. Follow the provided instructions to complete your order.
  3. Use a mouse or touch screen to complete the authorization process.

If you are requesting a transcript on behalf of someone else (Third Party Request):

  1. Place your order directly through Credentials Solutions.
  2. Follow the provided instructions to complete your order.
  3. You will need to upload the student's signed authorization.


Checking Transcript Order Status


To Release a Hold for Grades/Degrees on a Transcript Order that has Already Been Placed

Holds for Grades/Degrees should be released after GPA processing for the end of a term has been complete.

To release a hold:

  1. Access the Credentials Self-Service Plus link
  2. Follow the prompts to enter Order Number and Student ID Number or SSN
  3. Click Remove Hold
  4. Save
  5. Don’t forget to log off!

Transcript(s) will process immediately.

1. Electronic PDF Transcripts

  • Electronic PDF transcript delivered to email address (employer, prospective employer, yourself, etc.) or any school on the TranscriptsPlus® network
  • Timing: This is the quickest delivery option. You will receive your transcript within minutes.

2. Paper Transcripts - Mailed through USPS

  • Paper transcripts are printed on security paper, sealed, and have the University Registrar’s signature. 
  • Timing: Once the request for an official transcript is received, it can take up to 10 business days to be delivered in the mail.

3. In-Person Requests - For Pick up

  • Transcripts should be ordered through Banner Self Service when possible prior to pick up. 
  • A valid photo ID is required to pick up transcripts. Transcripts can be picked up by another individual on a student’s behalf only if the student has given written permission through a completed Student Consent for Access to Education Records Form or through their Guest Access Portal. These access requests should be on file with the University prior to pick up.
  • In-person transcript services are available between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday (except during observed holidays) at Niner Central in the Cone Center. 
  • Unclaimed transcripts will be destroyed if not picked up within 30 days of the date ordered.

4. Phone orders

  • The online system uses current web encryption technology to keep your information secure. 
  • If you are uncomfortable placing an order online, you can call Credentials Solutions at 847-716-3005 to place your transcript request. 
  • There is an operator surcharge for placing orders over the phone.

5. Transcript Requests Requiring Companion Documents

  • Please do not mail or fax forms to UNC Charlotte to include with your transcripts. 
  • You can upload companion documents when placing your order.

6. Transcripts Needing Apostille Authentication/Authority Certificates

  • Place an order using the “Order an Official Transcript"  tab to obtain a notarized transcript for pick-up at the Niner Central Office in Cone Center, Room 380.
  • Immediately notify Niner Central by telephone (704-687-8622) or email (ninercentral@uncc.edu) that your transcript requires a notary. Office staff will assist with transcript Notary service, at no cost to you.
  • If you would prefer your transcript be mailed after the notarization, you can request this and provide an address to Niner Central by email.  
  • You can find the instructional process to obtaining authentication/authority certificates and the document submission on the Secretary of State website.  Transcript should remain sealed for inclusion in your United States Department of State Authentication submission packet.

7. Alumni who attended prior to 1988

  • If the Office of the Registrar has already migrated your legacy transcript, your order will complete immediately.
  • If the Office of the Registrar needs to build your legacy transcript, we will do so before fulfilling your order. 
  • Please allow 3-5 business days for the building of your transcript. 
  • Once your legacy transcript is built, future orders will process more quickly.

 

  • Complete record - We provide both undergraduate and graduate coursework upon request. A transcript is an exact and complete record of a student's academic history; therefore the University will not issue a partial transcript.
  • Holds - Make sure that you have no outstanding financial obligations to the university. If your academic record has a financial hold, transcript requests will not be processed. Transcripts are automatically released within 5 minutes of resolving your hold.
  • Requests to hold your transcript request until after final grades/degree is posted - Final grades are posted on transcripts about 1 week after a term ends. Degrees are posted about one month after a term ends.  Please be sure to indicate on the request if you would like your transcript held for final grades or the degree to be posted.
