As of July 1, the tuition surcharge legislation has been repealed.
NC Governor Roy Cooper recently signed SB 225 which repeals the 50% tuition surcharge imposed on students who take more than 140 credit hours to complete a 4-year program or more than 110% of the hours necessary to complete a 5-year program.
- The effective date of the repeal is July 1, 2019, and applies beginning with the 2019-20 academic year.
- We encourage you to complete your degree in a timely manner, so you can take advantage of the eight semesters of fixed tuition.
- Because the 2019-20 catalog was already published before this decision was made, the information regarding this surcharge will be removed with the 2020-21 catalog.
